We started hosting music meetings in 2002 when founder Dan Reed asked us to try the first one at the second NON COMMvention in Louisville. That went well enough for others to follow: in Nashville at Americanafest, SXSW, and NXNE in Toronto. We’ve done more than 50 and relish the challenge of finding new songs that most in the audience haven’t heard and engaging in interesting discussions afterward. We don’t tell anyone what they’re going to hear before playing it. Everyone holds a stack of numbers from 1-10 and vote on what they just heard. We like our attendees to be all in. It makes the discussions much more interesting!

Music is sent by artists, record companies, artist managers, publicists, booking agents, friends, and most recently as the business has changed, some of the best submissions come from radio programmers.
